RE: possible to buy the battery ?
And thus Renault ZE's will only sell in very low numbers.
Can anyone answer why I would want to spend £9,000 on a second hand electric Fluence AND be tied into a £100 pm agreement for as long as I own the car? I spend that on petrol. The idea of an EV is to save on fuel bills. Even if the benefits of leasing are taken into account, one does not want to be tied into £100 pm each and every month on a car that is getting older, and lower in value.
£100 pm is hard to justify on an 18 month old, £9,000 car, let along when it is 4 years old and worth £4,000.
At least give the owners the OPTION of leasing OR buying. See which works in the UK and encourage it. Leasing may work in France or Denmark or where ever, but it might not work in Germany, the UK or Cyprus. Give the owner what THEY want.
