Parking fine v.s. parking reminder? (advise wanted)

Guys,

I got a ticket for overtime parking last week and this is not the first time! Sometimes simply because I forget to get back and remove my car in good time. My friend suggests parking reminder, e.g. can download an APP into mobilephone. I tried one, but I also have to remember to set an alarm after parking.... but my problem is remembering!

Have you tried such reminder? or do you have better way/idea?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

br, Simonsen

I do not know what phone you have, But most have an alarm section.
On my own I have pre created approx 10 different alarms.
I would suggest creating one yourself called parking alert, when you are next in the parking spot enter a time with 10 minutes to spare.
I do not have a trust with apps as they don't always work because a long list of items have to be 100%.
The personal alarm on your phone is under your control and not dependant on outside influences.
I assume the parking laws are different where you are to here, electric cars are exempt to the usual 1 or 2 hour max parking due to some cars taking up to 7 hours to charge.
Only 2 weeks ago I had been parked for half the day and I noticed the traffic warden passing by it twice. There was also a foreign Leaf parked on the other side of the charge point for longer than me.

You don't say where it was, on street, private land or wherever. in Scotland you can ignore the latter unless issues by a council. Any more info?

personal alarm has to be set every time you leave the car, not very convenient; and you have to remember doing this - that's also an issue itself

Never had any need to - the first fine is a powerful incentive to remember. i've never needed anything else.
