7,395 now, from Leicester Dealer.

Had my Fluence serviced at Leicester the other day and I mentioned that the prices had been as low as 6,000. Might be co-incidence, but there's now one just dropped at Leicester at 7,395 (when they seemed to be sticking to 8k, come-what-may at the national dealerships).

Anyhow, if anyone is reading in on the forum and thinks of going to Leicester to get this one, then join and PM me because if you mention I referred you then I might get a referral cheque!! (I suggested Paul and I had probably 'sold' the 5 Fluences that were bought after us that you guys have gone with, from our own experiences of taking-of-the-plunge, and he mentioned they give referral cheques for that sort of thing!)

I fancy getting referral cheques for helping to sell lots of F's but I fear we'll run out of cars before we get rich.

If you've put the effort into writing up your own experiences and, on that basis, folks choose to go buy, then why not?

Donald, I agree it's a great idea but the problem that Fluence owners have is that of lack of supply of cars for converts to go out and buy. Let me know when you've persuaded 10 folk to purchase a Fluence and I'll buy you a pint.

With many Leafs going for between 10k & 11k, the Fluence is still looking overpriced at 8k. Remember there's the continual HV battery payments to make and that that has to be passed on to the next owner. That will become difficult as the cars lower in value.

I appreciate the many perceived advantages of battery rental, but there are more to owning a car outright. I wonder if mid year you'll get a Leaf for 8k and a Fluence for 4k?

ps I do prefer the Fluence to the Leaf.

That's the shame of it, an almost good car spoilt by unnecessary design contraints (slooooow charging only) and off-putting marketing (lease or nothing). I suppose we could always import the Korean Samsung version for 2014 with faster charging, digital dash and all the good features of the Fluence. Don't know whether they too force a battery lease on their customers?

To be fair, the Leaf's almost right, too. Not sure about the Zoe, haven't had the chance to try one.

Apparently the Zoe can't be plugged into a normal 13amp socket - at all.

To me that is of no use, at least not in the early days of adoption. To carry a 13amp lead is always handy just in case you get caught short for a charge.

Renault just seem to be adding ridiculous constraints to EV ownership - lease only and no 13amp in the Zoe.

Nissan at least give them option to lease the battery, though how will anyone know if they're buying a 2nd hand car that came with the battery, or one that didn't and they then get a sting in the tail at a later date.

It's all very French. Hmmm

Now there are two. Both Renault Leicester and Manchester have one owner 12-reg cars at 7395 with mileages from 4000-5400ish. And only 5 cars in total now on sale, they're dwindling, fast.
