Brake dust

I'm not a great one for washing my cars, but with the weather improving, I finally got my bucket and sponge out yesterday to give my pride and joy the once over.

I was staggered to discover how little brake dust or other dirt had settled on even the front wheels in the last couple of thousand miles - there was almost none. I'm guessing regen and/or a clever wheel design are responsible.

On my ICE car, I'm normally scrubbing away for ages with little sponges, brushes and all sorts of sprays to get even most of the ingrained filth off, especially on the fronts.

RE: Brake dust

The simple fact is that EV owners use their brakes less, and even when they do, the pads do less work anyway. Having come to work in my Benz this morning, I find it unnerving how the car keeps going when you take your foot off the gas, and how the big pedal is required to slow the car.

ICE just seems so very backward now
