1/3, 2/3 split rear seat.

I've only just noticed this but my Fluence's back seat seems to be split 1/3 2/3, despite, as far as I can tell, not being capable of being folded.

I'm assuming that the regular ICE Fluence/Megane always has a split seat and that Renault decided just to use what they already had.

Can anyone else shed any light on this?

RE: 1/3, 2/3 split rear seat.

The original brochure for the Fluence included "split rear seat" as a feature. Why would they do that if you can't actually use the feature? Maybe there's some devious way of releasing it, though with the battery blocking the opening I don't see the point. I guess the truth is that the feature was on the ICE Fluence (not sold in the UK) and the author of the brochure knew nothing about what he was describing!

RE: 1/3, 2/3 split rear seat.

it would have been a cut n paste - lihe the other famous anomaly.... prise off your number plate (rear) and you'll find a keylock that opens the boot with your physical metal blade (not the boot release button).

Since the plates on mine were fixed with security screws, I had to drill out my old plate rendering it useless!
